Built with International Communication Standards

This morse code to text file decoder implements the International Morse Code standard (ITU-T Recommendation F.1), the official telecommunication protocol used globally since 1865. Our decoder supports all standard characters:

Letters A–Z

26 uppercase patterns

Numbers 0–9

10 digit patterns

Punctuation

Period, comma, question mark, apostrophe, exclamation, slash, parentheses, ampersand, colon, semicolon, equals, plus, hyphen, underscore, quotation mark, dollar sign, at symbol

Advanced Morse Code to Text Decoding

Powerful Decoding Features

  • Upload .txt files containing Morse code in dot-dash format (supports • and — symbols)
  • Automatic decoding to readable text using International Morse Code (ITU-T F.1)
  • Real-time character count and invalid sequence detection for quality assurance
  • Download options for decoded text or re-download original Morse code files
  • Support for full character set: letters, numbers, and common punctuation marks
  • Batch processing: handle large files up to 1 MB (over 100,000 characters)

Professional Use Cases

  • Educational purposes – Teaching and learning Morse code with file-based exercises
  • Ham radio operators – Decoding received transmissions and contest logs
  • Historical research – Analyzing archival telegraph messages and naval communications
  • Cryptography enthusiasts – Solving Morse-based puzzles and ciphers
  • QSL card verification – Confirming Morse code accuracy in amateur radio contacts
  • Emergency preparedness – Training for backup communication systems

How It Works

Our morse code file decoder uses the ITU-T Recommendation F.1 International Morse Code standard to convert dot-dash sequences into readable characters.

Decoding Rules:

  • Single spaces separate individual letters
  • Forward slashes (/) or multiple spaces (2+) separate words
  • Line breaks in your file are preserved in the decoded output
  • Invalid sequences that don't match known Morse patterns are flagged with "?" and counted

Simply upload your .txt file containing Morse code, and our system will instantly decode it for you. You can then copy the decoded text to your clipboard or download it as a new .txt file for your records. Original files can also be re-downloaded if needed.
